Glengarry Glen Ross (cert 15, 96min) – Friday 8th January 2016
This adaptation of David Mamet’s hit play is packed with star turns from some of Hollywood’s most respected character actors. Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino, Ed Harris and Alan Arkin play four real estate salesmen who are forced into a selling competition by their head office executive “motivator” played by Alec Baldwin. First prize is a Cadillac, second a set of steak knives and third and fourth prizes are the sack. In the 1990s if you worked as a salesmen in the USA you would know that all these characters really did exist in this ‘dog-eat-dog’ life – uncompromising, unscrupulous with sales at any cost.
Doors open 7.30 for 8pm, the bar will be open for refreshments before and after the film and as ever, there’s a warm welcome for old and new members and guests.
