TIDESWELL CINEMA

This month, on Thursday 29th October, we have a powerful Spanish film (with subtitles), described as an ‘exquisitely beautiful masterpiece’. ‘The Spirit of the Beehive’ is set in the aftermath of the Spanish civil war and focusses on seven year old Ana, and her reactions after seeing ‘Frankenstein’, screened in her small village by a travelling movie theatre. A visually arresting film, it uses images more than words to convey this young child’s thoughts and life as she seeks to find the monster of the film that has so impressed her. It will be shown at 7.30pm at The George Inn.

Great news! Non-members can now come along for just £4 (becoming guest members for the night). There are a few membership places left (£25), entitling you to see a minimum of ten more films this season, including our popular Winter Double Bill, with meal, that brightens up a Saturday in January. Contact tideswellcinema@gmail.com, or phone Margaret on 01298 871681. The full programme of films is available on our website (tideswell cinema.com), and printed programmes are around the village for you to pick up. All are welcome to join us on these evenings.
