Despite a 10-day spell from 13th to 22nd with only 11.3 hours of sunshine the month as a whole turned out to be a very sunny one compared to the June average. More than half the month’s rainfall came in 2 days (1st and 12th).These two days produced a total of 51.5 mm. In terms of the mean temperature it was a rather cold month but this was due largely to below average minimum temperatures. The mean daily maximum temperature was only slightly below average.Winds on the 1st were unusually strong for June, with a max gust of 44 knots.
