Bank Closure

There has still been no official comment from NatWest about September’s closure and I’m sure many of us still haven’t been sent anything from our bank, as our accounts are offically in Bakewell even though we live  and try to bank in the village.

The following is an extract from an email sent to one local customer from Jane Solomon, head of NatWest in the Peak District.

“I do appreciate that not all customers want to use telephone, online or mobile banking for their day to day needs, so for these reasons we will be retaining our Cash Machine service in Tideswell, and we are also introducing a Mobile Bank service which will visit Tideswell on Wednesdays and Fridays, for around 45 minutes on each occasion.

We have also reached an agreement with the Post Office that allows our customers to use their card to check balances and withdraw cash, and use a paying in slip to pay in cash and cheques. Post Offices that offer these services are Tideswell, Litton, Bradwell, and Eyam. Calver Post Office offers the same services, with the exception of paying in cash.”
