It might have been a dismal day, but as usual Tideswell put on a wonderful Food Festival. Churches Together enjoyed joining in with their Street Theatre, offering samples of fairly traded food, and inviting people to ‘join the party’. A few brave souls did just that, and were treated to waiter service, an array of nibbles, a glass of ‘wine’, all with musical accompaniment by Rev Steve Fisher!
In the warmth of the Parish Church (where plenty of people fled to get dry) there was a great hubbub, as members of the Mothers’ Union, Women’s Institute and others were offering a taste of their personal favourite recipes. The building looked wonderful, with flowers from a wedding earlier in the day.
Just two things out of a multitude on this annual fixture of celebration in our village. What a great place to live!
