It was the warmest year in the 6 years that we have been here though the mean temperature was only 0.1 deg higher than the mean in 2011. It was the first year without an ‘ice day’ i.e. a day during which the temperature remained below 0.0 deg all day. The only wintry weather of any note was a short cold snap just after Christmas. Sunshine and rainfall were close to average.
