Tideswell does Posada again, as homes and businesses offer a place to stay, not only for Mary and Joseph and their trusty donkey but also this year (thanks to artist Fiona Rogers) three rather splendid Wise Men. There were more offers of hospitality last year than there were days in Advent, so we’ve doubled it! The colourful wooden visitors will quite often appear, gently lit, in Tideswell windows between November 30th and December 24th. Lists of hosts can be found outside all the churches, and most hosts will display a poster in advance, so do find a friend and go Posada spotting! Our Posada is adapted from an old Mexican custom which celebrates hospitality and the welcoming of the gift of Love in preparation for Christmas.
