Parish Council Matters

Tideswell Parish Council met for the October meeting and discussed a variety of topics for the future.

Sadly, resignations were received from Pete Hawkins and Mary Landon. Both will be missed as they contributed a great deal to the work of the Council. We send them our best wishes and thanks. Two vacancies will be advertised in accordance to NALC guidelines.

The Christmas trees for Millers Dale and Fountain Square will be ordered shortly, as well as even more of the new LED lights which proved so popular last Christmas. Councillors Rod Baraona and John Chapman will oversee this.

Derbyshire Dales District Council are liaising with the Council in the last details of the change of ownership of the public toilets. Councillor Jennifer Bower is to talk to them again. Charges at the cemetery are to be reviewed shortly.

The Remembrance Service on November 9th will be a special one to commemorate WW1. Everyone is welcome to attend the service at the War Memorial. Parade starts from the Market Square at 10.30am.

The following evening, November 10th, the next monthly meeting of the Council will be held in the Fountain Square Church vestry. Members of the public are most welcome to come and find out more about what the council does.
