Last month we wrote down our wish list and didn’t we do well!
Containers: we have had offers of large containers for growing more vegetables and herbs.
Volunteers: we had a great turnout for the first Garden Work Party and it was great to welcome new volunteers. Between us we were able to clear the slope that had become a bit of a dumping ground, getting it ready to plant wild flowers. Henry and Stuart disposed of all the old carpet, glass and metal which was good. So this area is going to become the Wildlife Garden. And a big thank you to the catering team from Café Church for providing the volunteers with cakes – they were much appreciated.
Weather: even the weather was kind to us for the Work Party.
AND – something that was not even on our wish list, we were offered a greenhouse at a price not to be refused. Luckily we managed to take it down, and move it without breaking a single pane of glass. Now we need a base so that we can erect it in the Garden.
Do come and join our next Garden Work party on Sunday April 6th.
Looking ahead to Tideswell’s 4th Food Festival on May 3rd, when the Garden will be full of fun and activities for all the family.
A really good start to the 2014 season!
