Tideswell Parish Council recently tendered for the repair and landscaping work on the playgrounds in the village and the small car park at Townhead. Two tenders were received and the council duly appointed a local contractor to do the work which will start shortly.
We’ll also be advertising the position of a Contract Gardener soon. Details of this will be posted on the Parish Council Notice Board in Gratton Square.
PC Community Awards If you have any nominations for anyone who lives within Tideswell Parish who you think should win the Parish Council’s Community Award, then we’d love to hear from you. Nominations are open in two categories 25 and over and under 25. The closing date for your nominations is April the first (honestly). Please let any parish councillor have your nominations and include a few lines why you think they should win You can also email them to our temporary clerk (janicejackson86@hotmail.co.uk).
Finally we’d like to remind you that parish councillors are not paid, nor do they receive an allowance. It is the only tier of government where payments are not made. The parish council does, of course, have staff, notably the clerk and maintenance staff and does from time to time award short contracts for specific work to be undertaken. Members of the public are always welcome to attend parish council meetings and can contribute their thoughts in the opening ten minutes.
