The New Year at Bishop Pursglove Primary School has started busily with a range of exciting topics and new faces.
Staff and pupils at the school are delighted to welcome new teacher, Les Hough to the school. Mr Hough has recently qualified as a teacher and is looking forward to begin his new role teaching Class 3.
Across the school, children have already begun learning about their new Creativity topics. Following their fantastic Ancient Egypt topic, pupils in Key Stage 2 are now getting to grips with environmental issues in ‘Caring for Planet Earth’. Over the coming weeks, they will be looking at how wind turbines, solar power and recycling waste can reduce the impacts of Global Warming and Climate Change.
In Key Stage 1, Classes 1 + 2 are learning about Journeys and are extremely excited about looking at places in different countries around the world.
Pupils are continuing to work hard to improve their independent and team work skills as part of the school’s ‘Going for Gold’ scheme. The scheme encourages the children to think about their individual role within the school community and how the choices they make can help the people around them.
