Unfortunately in October the Parish Council meeting took place after the deadline for the Village Voice to receive my report and so this month my report is short and tells you what we will have considered at our October meeting rather than what has been agreed.
With winter on its way we will have considered how best the Council can provide salt supplies for the bins around the Parish. There are nine bins and a number of open piles. Derbyshire County Council is responsible for two bins ( Dale View in Litton and Cressbrook opposite the old school ) and the open piles ( Litton Slack ). The Parish Council is responsible for the other seven bins. In my next report I will explain how the Parish Council intends to provide salt cost effectively.
During our consultation meeting with residents in May, one of the issues raised was the maintenance of trees on the village greens and in the cemetery. In October we will have considered arrangements for implementing a programme of annual maintenance which could start this year. More on this in my next report.
Finally our advertisement for a permanent Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer was successful and we received a good response. When you read this report I hope that we will have been able to appoint from the short listed candidates and that I can introduce our new Clerk in my next report.
Best wishes to you all,
John Evans (Chair)
