Mind Your Sheds

Police are urging members of the public to boost the security of their homes after a number of shed and garage break – ins.

The message comes after two valuable mountain bikes and two lawn mowers were taken from homes in Tideswell and Great Hucklow.

Thieves forced their way into a secure garage at a house in Sherwood Road, Tideswell between 7pm on Saturday, June 8 and 12.30pm on Sunday, June 9.

A Canyon Nerve XC8 and a Marin Riftzone bike were stolen from the garage. Thieves cut the padlock to a brick outbuilding at another house in Sherwood Road but nothing was stolen in that offence.

Between 10pm on Sunday, June 9 and 7.30am on Monday, June 10, a shed was broken into at a property in Great Hucklow and a Briggs and Stratton petrol lawnmower was taken from the shed.
