Two men from the south of the UK have been charged in connection with the discovery of a substantial amount of cocaine in Tideswell.
The men, aged 31 and from Swanley in Kent and aged 26 and from South East London, have been charged with conspiring to evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug and conspiring to evade a prohibition on the importation of firearm ammunition and have appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield. On Monday, March 11, a large amount of drugs and several bullets were found underneath a vehicle in Tideswell. The men were arrested in the village on Wednesday, March 13. Safer Communities Officer Phil Maycock told the Village Voice: “No one has anything to worry about. The fact that these men were arrested in Tideswell was coincidence and Tideswell was not the target for this crime.”
