One day the garden is covered in snow and looks like a winter wonderland and a few days later the snow has gone, the sun is shining and it begins to look like spring.
We are managing to take advantage as and when the sun shines so now the soil has been given a good dig and a feed, the garlic that was planted in December is now beginning to pop up, the greenhouse has been cleaned out, all the pots given a wash ready for the next planting, the seeds have been ordered and we’re on target for the best growing season the Kitchen Garden has ever had! And we definitely intend to feature at the May Food Festival, more details in the April Issue. Many thanks for all the donations we received for the garden last year. It means we now have 2 compost bins in good use, a thriving array of soft fruits as well as somewhere to sit and enjoy the garden. And, please, if anyone has any garden furniture surplus to requirements, it would be gratefully received. We’d also love to hear from you if you can spare some time to help us. It can range from a few minutes to a few hours. There is sometimes lots of do and sometimes less, and we always have a good natter whilst working. Just get in touch with either Maureen on 871542 or Judy on 872408.
