2012 has been a successful year for us. We secured funding from the Big Lottery, held three wonderful ‘Memory Days’ and we started to interview and record local people. We thank you all who have shown interest and hope you will continue to do so throughout the next year.
During Wakes Week 2013 we will be putting on a performance depicting the memories we have so far gathered from you. This is an exciting time for us all and we are asking for your support and hope you will become involved in this production – Look out for posters and information early in the New Year. Have you all checked out our website – You can listen to some of the interviews we have done – go to http://tideswelltales.wordpress.com and check out the Tideswell Tales. Listen to Mr Barnsley from Litton going to the village shop for a ‘ha’porth of aniseed balls’ in the early 1930s and seeing the bombs stacked on the grass verge in Flagg before they built the underground bomb store at Harpur Hill. There’s lot more to listen to and you could add to these – if you would like to share one of your memories please contact us on 01298 872285. A Happy New Year to you all from TLHG.
