Dear all,
—
This month Tideswell Cinema offers a foreign language film ( French and Japanese, subtitles) ‘Stupeur et Tremblement’ or ‘ Fear and Trembling’. It is an absorbing comedy that explores cultural differences between the world of work in Europe and Japan.
Amelie was born in Japan and lived there until she was five. She grows up in Belgium, but wants to return to this country of her childhood. After college graduation, she takes a one year contract as an interpreter in a large company. Her Japanese is perfect – but that does not prevent her downfall. Come along on Thursday 21st February to see what happens in this first class film. It will be shown at 7.30pm upstairs in The George, and Guest Members are welcome to take seats from 7.15pm, for £4.75. And don’t forget that the pub sells excellent meals, so why not make it a ‘real night out’!
