Sir, I write with regards to last month’s insensitive article Funeral Notices in Passing.
I could not believe what I was reading. I did not go to the funeral director and say as a grieving relly (as it was put) I wish to arrange a funeral as my relly’s popped her clogs. How insensitive.
This issue of funeral notices has gone on since May 2011. I know this as my sister’s was one of the first notices to be taken out of the window and put in the cabinet for unwanted items. This caused us a lot of distress. I understood from the chairman of the parish council that the matter was in hand and that a place for a cabinet was being looked in to. So come on parish council let us have less distressing poems and more action. Find a resting place for the cabinet so our cards can be displayed with the respect they deserve and this sad issue can be laid to rest and along with our loved ones, can Rest in Peace.
A place has been found – see Page 22
