Bothered and Bewildered This is just simply a play that you can’t miss. I know that memory loss is something that we all fear and every time we stand staring into the fridge wondering why we are there we ask ourselves is this the start of something bothering and bewildering? But just because we are a tinsy bit scared it doesn’t mean that we can sweep it under the carpet and forget about it. The problem needs consideration and awareness and those who are trying to cope with it need our love and support. Irene’s two daughters are a case in point. Their Mum has started to behave out of character, do strange things, and use the kind of language that she would not have dreamed of using before. So Louise, one of her daughters tries to cope with her Mum in her own home and one of the strategies she is advised to use is a Memory diary that Irene endeavours to write with her imaginary friend and favourite author, Barbara Cartland. (Oh P.S. I FORGOT to mention that the play is set in the year 2000, the year Barbara Cartland died) It’s funny, it’s poignant, its cast is all Tideswell folk, it’s brilliantly acted, it’s sympathetic, it’s tearful, it’s a piece to be proud of and I think it will blow your socks off.
