This is an appeal, please, for a person who is willing to go to firms on our Business Park to sell poppies, badges etc.for this year’s Appeal. Vera Wilkinson and Joyce Harby have done this invaluable ‘round’ for quite a while in all weathers, but now feel they would like to retire – in this case ‘quite a while’ means, incredibly, for nearly 80 years! Even in the short time since I took over from Norman Gibbs, Vera and Joyce have raised a lot of money from their friends on the Business Park, and I would like to pay tribute to their service for our armed forces.
They are willing to advise anyone who is interested about this collection, if a volunteer will contact me (01298 872089), I can put he/she in touch with Vera and Joyce.
