Litton Parish Matters

All residents are invited to the Annual Parish Meeting which  is to be held on Wednesday 29 March  in Litton Village Hall from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. This is an important meeting because it provides residents of the Parish with  the opportunity to hold their Council to account for its work during the year and to make suggestions about what it should do in future years. An agenda will be circulated to all residents before the meeting.

Severn Trent is to replace 1.5km of  the water main in Litton village with work due to start week beginning 20 March and  planned to finish week beginning 19 June. The contractors are holding a public exhibition  to explain to residents what is to be done and to listen to any  concerns which they may have. The exhibition  will take place in the Village Hall on Tuesday 7 March from 4.15pm to 6.45pm with residents able to drop in at any time. The Friends of Litton , the Parish Council and others are looking at the implications of the work for village events during the spring and summer.

The Council need to contact living relatives of a number persons buried in the cemetery.  The passage of time has resulted in the Council not having current names and addresses of these people and would not wish to make alterations to a grave until it had made every effort to speak with relatives of the deceased.  The Council is asking whether any resident could help trace relatives of  : William Alan Kinsley Lester d. 18 May 1996;  Kathryn Ann Worsencroft d. January 1981;  Mary Leigh d.September 1969 and John James Leigh d. May 1979; James William Harris d. May 1978 and Dorothy Harris d. August 2008; David Robert Bingham d. March1965 and Mary Anna Bingham d. June 1979; Gertrude Sellers d. 5 April 1958 and William Sellers died 12 February 1961; Barrington David Pedley d. 16 March 1976; Horace Tetsill d. 22 January 1973 and Elizabeth Tetsill d. 22 August 1986.  Any information which can  help the Council contact relatives of the above will be much appreciated.

Please send any information to the Clerk at littonparishcouncil@gmail.com or talk to a councillor. Thank you very much for your assistance.  John Evans ( Vice Chair )
