At the March Parish Council meeting, dog fouling was once again discussed. Despite the plea in the last issue of Village Voice, people continue to let their dog(s) foul and also leave bags of dog poo on other people’s property. Please stop this anti social behaviour. There is no excuse for it.
On a more pleasant note, the Community Awards for 2014 were also discussed at the meeting. The standard of nominations is as high as ever . THE PRESENTATION NIGHT WILL BE ORGANISED SOON, AND WINNERS ANNOUNCED.
The Derbyshire Association of Local Councils (DALC) will be giving training to members shortly. Members of Parish Councils have responsibilities, although they are unpaid volunteers. The law is specific on what the Council may and may not undertake, and all the Councillors are eager to learn more from DALC.
Councillors felt that the road signs for Tideswell should be reviewed as visitors do not always find Tideswell easily, depending on which route they use into the village.
The tenders for gardening work should be sent to our Interim Clerk Janice Jackson.(01629 650727) .
Councillor Mary Landon(01298 871817) is happy to give information about the work, and further details are available on the Parish Notice Board. The notice board is getting a little full, as we have been unable to open part of it for some time. This will be rectified shortly. Thank you for to all for your patience. In the big scheme of things it has taken a back seat while we deal with other more pressing work.
I would like to make a personal apology to residents who may have tried to contact me after the stormy, windy weather. Our telephone line blew down around the same time as the Sherwood Road tree, and we had no land line for 11 days. Consequently, the voice mail was full when we finally were back on line, and I had 535 emails to answer. If you had been trying to contact me, apologies.
Sue Barber on behalf of Tideswell Parish Council
