From Tideswell to Somerset

Well done to Phil Stafford for his delivery of food etc from our village to the flood victims in Somerset. His Shop in Tideswell van was packed solid, and demonstrated what a caring community we are. There is a display of some of the photos he took in the Parish Church. Do pop in and have a look. It really did look like an inland sea.

There is also a display about the Air Ambulance. Each month the church has a particular focus, and April’s highlights the amazing work the helicopter does. It is called out to an emergency situation on average three times day – life saving missions – and each flight costs around £1700. We hope we never need it – but how grateful we should be that it is there. All the money to support and run this service has to be raised, as it receives no government help. The Anchor pub is holding a fundraising event on Friday 20th June – a date for the diary, and an opportunity to show our support.
